Alexander Technique and Beyond

About Erik

Erik is a "doer" with a love for movement, and adventure. He is a professional musician, singer, and songwriter. Outside of his profession Erik is an avid hunter, outdoor enthusiast, and student of martial arts, among other things. Growing up in an active family he has spent time in many different arenas of movement such as skiing, horseback riding, surfing, dance, contact sports, swimming, sailing and much more.

He has a deep passion for helping people out of their prisons of (often painful) habit and into freedom, ease, wholistic health, physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

What is the Alexander Technique?

The Alexander Technique is a psychosomatic educational system that identifies harmful patterns of thought and movement. Through the use of light physical touch and verbal instruction a teacher helps a student to release and move beyond these restrictive habits.  This unlocks new creative potential, increased mobility, ease of movement, and a greater sense of well-being. â€‹

The Alexander Technique can help many (if not any) things including:

Release of chronic tension and pain

Freedom from addiction

Increase motor function

Increase athleticism

Heightened mental acuity

Who Benefits?

The Alexander Technique is known for its use in highly refined performance activities such as Music, Dance, Equestrianism, and Theater. However, because the technique teaches us how to exist in our bodies in an easier manner, and because we all exist in a body at all times - everyone can benefit from the technique.
